I always recognized it instantly, and each time the first
few haunting notes filled the air, I instinctively ran to find my daddy. Without hesitation or complaint, he
dropped everything he was doing, no matter how important, and whisked me into
the kitchen to dance.
I have no recollection as to why “These Dreams” by Heart
became our song. It just was. The instant I climbed onto his feet, I
would close my eyes and pretend we were in a magical forest. Soft winds blew through my hair, as I,
the young princess, danced with the king.
For only those few minutes of the song, time stood still. It is those small moments that I will
never forget.
At my wedding, we laughed through tears as we danced to our
song in front the guests because we knew none of them would understand. This song was unique only to us. And even though my dad lives several
hours away, I still feel the urge to run to his arms each time I hear it. No matter how old we get, or how far
away we are from each other, I will forever feel like a little princess in awe
of her benevolent, mighty king.

Miss Collins isn't feeling well today, so kiddos you'll have to help her out with this one. What is the best name for a 2D figure with four sides, two pairs of parallel sides, and all sides that are congruent?
The name for the figure is square and what song is it that is special
ReplyDeleteClose, but not quite! My shape is missing one very important feature that a square would have. Also, the song is called "These Dreams." It was released in 1985, so I was about 3 at the time. It's not typical father-daughter song, so I'm not sure why we picked it. But, it's special to me all the same. :)

It is either rhombus or square. If you said it is also a rectangle it would obviously be a square. However, you didn't so that leads me to believe that it is a rhombus. Both rhombus and squares meet the requirements in your clues. However, squares have requirements. For, example a square has to have 4 right angles or it wouldn't be considered a square. So, it is a rhombus. If it's not and it is a square you should of said that it is also a rectangle. Once again it's a rhombus.
